Week 11 Updates Here!
Fami-Lee today is Dia de Muertos, an important cultural celebration in the Mexican American culture & community which celebrates the lives of our loved ones who have passed on. There are several Dia de Muertos events throughout the month of November in the city that I encourage you to attend. November 1st was also a school holiday as AISD observed Diwali also known as the celebration of light in the Hindu community.
November also marks Native American Heritage Month. Learn more about it here and follow along on the AISD website to see how they are honoring it all month long.
Were you at the Carnival? Did you get some fun pictures you'd like to see in the Yearbook? Send them to us at photos@russellleepta.org.
We're wishing everyone a very happy long weekend! As a reminder on 11/5 we have another school holiday on Election Day. Please scroll down for a post from our Advocacy Chair, Kelly Griswold who jumped in at our first PTA meeting with a passing remark that lead to a truly critical role on the PTA. Thank you Kelly! and thank you to everyone who helps us turn words into actions every day at Lee.
LOST & FOUND UPDATE:
L&F is looking for a few more volunteers - this is a super flexible volunteer position with very minimal time needed.
Special request from Lost & found to please label your items and visit the racks when you are in the building. The L&F rack will also be outside the school every Friday (weather permitting)!!
