Fall Carnival is TOMORROW!!


Fall Carnival is Saturday, Oct 28 from 2-5pm in the school's backyard!!

WHERE TO PARK: We have secured parking at St Paul Lutheran Church (on Red River). There’s parking lots on both sides of the church and people can cross using the protected cross walk on Red River.


Due to recent rain storms we recommend you and your Roadrunner wear some insect repellent!


REMINDER to check the Friday folder for Free Popcorn/Free Cotton Candy wristband!



 


Follow the Clues to Your Next Great Read at the Literati Book Fair




BOOK FAIR is a fundraiser for the library. With the funds, the library will purchase prizes for reading incentives and books for our collection. This year Ms. Day will focus on foreign language books for our English Language Learners.


Students can shop during their library class time, as they will still come to library that week.

Hey Dude, Nice Shoes!


October 30 @ 5:30PM (70 minutes)


While parents enjoy this informative workshop, students will get to hang out and do activities with The UT Math Club!


"Hey Dude, Nice Shoes" is an anti-bullying/pro-kindness workshop presented to over 35,000 students across the country every year! This workshop helps navigate through the delicate and sensitive topics that one encounters growing up. It is an inspiring presentation that empowers students to change the community around them for the better by choosing kindness every day.

About the speaker:


Carolyn Jennings Brown has been serving public schools in the state of Texas for nearly two decades. She has a unique perspective that spans from being the daughter of an educator, a student, a teacher and a parent. Today, Carolyn travels across the nation and shares her Anti-Bullying/ Pro-Kindness presentation, “Hey Dude, Nice Shoes” with students of all ages and their parents. During this empowering and inspiring workshop, she shares her unique experiences and stories in a passionate and honest way to educate the two separate generations on this sensitive topic and bridge the gap of understanding about growing up. Carolyn is an honorary lifetime member of the Texas PTA and a recipient of the National PTA lifetime achievement award. She brings 'Hey Dude, Nice Shoes' to more than 35,000 students across the United States each year.

As the cooler weather approaches the Lost & Found is full of items we will have all items available to be claimed at the Fall Festival!! If you are interested in helping the Lost & Found Team, please contact Saundra at lostandfound@russellleepta.org.




 

Coats for Kids Drive Coming Soon!



Lee Elementary has joined The Junior League of Austin’s Coats for Kids Coat Drive Competition! Help us keep Central Texas children warm by dropping off a new or gently used coat (we'll have collection bins) between Nov. 6 and Dec. 2.

October 23-28 | Lee Book Fair

Book Fair will be open from 7:00am to 5pm Monday -Friday. Thursday is our late night and we'll be open until 7pm. Finally, Book Fair will be open during the Lee Carnival on October 28. Students can shop during their library class time, as they will still come to library that week.

Scheduled for the first Friday of the month, these are informal opportunities to discuss current campus topics with Campus Leadership.

November 4 | Terra Toys + KidOShoes


You don't want to miss this! Terra Toys and KidOShoes Go shop at Terra Toys and KidOShoes on November 4th (all day) and the school will receive 10% of proceeds. All you need to do is mention LEE ELEMENTARY.

Weekly Recap

Running Club - 1st Race Complete


Let's celebrate all Roadrunners in the Lee Running Club who participated in the 46th running of the Daisy Dash on October 22, 2023.


We had runners complete both the 5k and the 1 mile races with the support of both Coach Dominguez and Coach Hilliard.
