About the club

Hello Famil-Lee! I'm looking forward to another wonderful year with your students. We are an amateur gardening club stimulating kids' knowledge and love of gardening, curiosity about nature, and awareness of the benefits of eating fruits and veggies. Come join us weekly for a 1-hour long gardening fun! Students will be able to make a salad at least once using veggies grown from the garden by themselves. Each student will have the opportunity to make a plant or animal QR code and take on projects that will help Lee earn its National Wildlife Federation Green Flag Status.

About the club

My name is Elena Abeyta and I am currently teaching 3rd grade at Lee Elementary. I am excited to share that I have teamed up with EF Tours to plan a trip to Japan in July of 2025, that is open to both students and families of Lee. The primary aim of the Japan Travel Club will be to deepen students' understanding of Japanese culture, history, architecture, and language. Through a series of interactive activities and discussions, participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in the unique aspects of Japanese society, fostering a sense of curiosity and appreciation for different cultures. Some fun highlights include designing your own cup of Ramen, being Pen Pals with students from Japan, tasting different traditional Japanese dishes, and more!

Harry Potter Club is put together by our wonderful 6th Grade Leaders. Ms. Price, the 6th Grade teacher, is there to oversee and help manage all the fun! Students will participate in activities like a Sorting Hat Ceremony, Quidditch, potion making, and a visit to our very own Hogsmeade!

About the club

Students in grades 4-6 are eligible to join Lee Sings, led by Dr. Margie Yankeelov. We will spend time learning how to sing in many different vocal styles through exercises, games, and choral pieces. Music Education students from UT will assist in teaching and conducting the ensemble. Performance opportunities for the group will be announced at a future date.

Club Location:

Singers will report to the picnic tables outside the music and art rooms after school, eat a snack they have brought, and then head to Mr. Rincon's room for rehearsal.

Students in aftercare will be escorted back to the cafeteria. After we are finished, we will walk the students out the door beside the cafeteria for pick-up. Please be sure to check out with Dr. Yankeelov before taking your child.

Groundwork Music Project Ukulele Ensemble is a great way for kids to develop their musical skills and have fun doing it! Students learn to sing and strum, while also developing their note reading skills and overall musical ability. The lessons include a lot of original songs created just for Groundwork Music Project, plus lots of familiar traditional pieces. Classroom activities help kids to truly enjoy the challenge of learning an instrument. Beyond classroom activities, all students are welcomed to participate in monthly Groundwork stage events with professional musicians, and the holiday concert at Central Market.

Leap of Joy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2012, provides dance and theater arts enrichment programs after school and during summer camps for youth in underserved schools across Austin, TX. Since 2010, our programs have been made possible through grants from AISD, the City of Austin, the Texas Commission on the Arts, Target, and A Glimmer of Hope, as well as through fundraising efforts and private donations. Leap of Joy is dedicated to empowering youth, fostering self-acceptance, and nurturing creativity through dance and the performing arts.

We pitch, plan, film and act in original movies that are shown in a film festival at the end of each semester.
